– My new smile!!

This patient had been very unhappy with his smile for a long time due to a darkened front tooth.  The planned treatment was root canal treatment on the dark tooth and then to lighten it by internal whitening.  Once the root canal treatment was complete two seperate applications of the whitening agent was needed to be placed within the tooth.  Internal whitening is quite a simple procedure however the results can vary and it is difficult to predict the final result.

– Brighter in July 2011

July this year we repeated the Brighter in July offer.  It has been hugley popular again with our existing and new patients.

Patients apply whitening gel to the custom made trays which they wear overnight for 2 weeks.  The level of whiteness varies between person to person but below are a few examples of the results we had from the Village Dental Practice.

6 Months Smile

This patient was interested having adult braces to improve his smile as the teeth were slightly overcrowded.  He spoke to Mr Somal at the practice and discussed the different options available to him.

The patient decided to go ahead with 6 months smile for the upper and lower teeth.  The treatment took around 8 months from having the brace fitted to it been removed.

– My Implant Journey.

I was having pain from my upper right wisdom tooth when eating, it was also very sensitive to hot and cold things.  I spoke to the dentist and she explained the tooth would need extracting.  My options were an implant or denture.  I decided to have an implant as I did not want to lose another tooth.

I had the extraction done in October 2010.  A special extraction was carried out to preserve bone.  I did have a little bit of pain after the extraction which I took regular painkillers.  After a few weeks I had an assessment where x-rays, pictures and models were taken of my teeth.  In December 2010 the first stage of the implant was carried out.  I was a little apprehensive prior to the treatment but once the local anaesthtic had been given I felt at ease.  After the treatment I had very little discomfort.

The next stage was in April 2011 when the implant was uncovered to see how well it had healed.  After that I needed a couple of appointments in preparation of the implant crown which would be placed.  My treatment ended towards the end of May 2011 and I am over the moon with the result. 

Mr Ghai and the rest of the team have been great and I would not hesitate  to have another implant.

My fininshed treatment.

I was unhappy with my upper and lower teeth. The lower teeth were twisted and the upper right lateral was protruding.

I had wanted something done with my teeth for a long time and had discussed different options with the dentists at the practice to correct my problem. The options that was given to me were braces or cosmetic veneers.

After discussing my options with Mr Somal I found that 6 Months Smile was my best option because of the length of time the treatment takes.

I had the brace fitted in April 2010, the first week was a little sore and difficult to get used to.  After the first week I became a lot more comfortable with them.  I had to keep coming in once a month to have the wires changed.

The braces were taken off in September 2010 and i was amazed at the end result even though I could see the teeth moving throughout the treatment.  Lots of people have noticed a difference in my smile.  I feel much more confident about smiling now.

After the treatment I decided to do the home teeth whitening.  That involved getting whitening trays made and applying the whitening gel to the trays every night for 2 weeks and sleeping with the trays in overnight.  I experienced a little bit of sensitivity but once I finished the treatment my smile was extremely white.

The service has been fantastic, Mr Somal was really helpful and put me at ease throughout the treatment.

- Patients view of having an implant.

I was having problems with one of my lower left molar teeth, the tooth was broken and it was slightly loose.  Mr Ghai went through the various options with me.  I decided to go ahead with an implant as I did not want a bridge or denture.  Mr Ghai and other staff at the practice was very informative about the procedure as to what would happen and when.  I was reassured at each stage and found the whole process quite smooth.

During the treatment there was some discomfort after the tooth was extracted and when the implant was first placed.  However this was minimal and soon settled down.

Appointments were made to suit me around work and did’nt need to take time off after treatment. 

The whole process took around 12 months.  I am so pleased I made the decision to have an implant as I am really happy with the result.

- Brighter in July promotion

The practice recently had a home whitening offer called ‘Brighter in July’. It was a 50% off the rrp price of the home whitening system which involves having custom made trays and then using syringes of whitening gel at home for 2 weeks overnight. The promotion was very successful and extremely popular with existing and new patients.

These second picture illustrates the patients teeth before the fillings were replaced.  In picture 1 the patient has had direct composite fillings placed on the upper left lateral and canine teeth to improve the appearance.  As you can see the fillings have made a large improvement to the individuals smile.

As you can see in picture 2 the patients upper right lateral tooth was darker than the rest of the teeth so a direct composite filling was placed over the tooth.

I came to the Village Dental Practice wanting an improvement made to my smile.

The treatment I had included veneers on my lower teeth, an upper denture and partial lower denture made. I went to the laboratory while the dentures were being made to speak to the techician to explain how I wanted the teeth to be aligned. On the day of the veneer preparations Westlands dental studio provided me with a complimentary relaxation therapy before going home. This helped me feel rejuvanated after a long treatment session.

After a couple of extractions, veneers and excellent dentures, I am extremely pleased with the results. I have recommended this practice to 3 of my friends.

I have recieved a professional and friendly service all round. I no longer feel apprehensive at the thought of coming to the dentist.

When I first got the braces on my teeth for the first few days it was difficult to get used to. After the first week I became comfortable with them.

I’ve had the braces on for 9 weeks now and already seen a dramatic change.

I’m very pleased with how the treatment is working so far. Many people have commented noticing a difference in my teeth.
