I was having problems with one of my lower left molar teeth, the tooth was broken and it was slightly loose. Mr Ghai went through the various options with me. I decided to go ahead with an implant as I did not want a bridge or denture. Mr Ghai and other staff at the practice was very informative about the procedure as to what would happen and when. I was reassured at each stage and found the whole process quite smooth.

During the treatment there was some discomfort after the tooth was extracted and when the implant was first placed. However this was minimal and soon settled down.

Appointments were made to suit me around work and did’nt need to take time off after treatment.

The whole process took around 12 months. I am so pleased I made the decision to have an implant as I am really happy with the result.

These second picture illustrates the patients teeth before the fillings were replaced. In picture 1 the patient has had direct composite fillings placed on the upper left lateral and canine teeth to improve the appearance. As you can see the fillings have made a large improvement to the individuals smile.

As you can see in picture 2 the patients upper right lateral tooth was darker than the rest of the teeth so a direct composite filling was placed over the tooth.

I came to the Village Dental Practice wanting an improvement made to my smile.

The treatment I had included veneers on my lower teeth, an upper denture and partial lower denture made. I went to the laboratory while the dentures were being made to speak to the techician to explain how I wanted the teeth to be aligned. On the day of the veneer preparations Westlands dental studio provided me with a complimentary relaxation therapy before going home. This helped me feel rejuvanated after a long treatment session.

After a couple of extractions, veneers and excellent dentures, I am extremely pleased with the results. I have recommended this practice to 3 of my friends.

I have recieved a professional and friendly service all round. I no longer feel apprehensive at the thought of coming to the dentist.

Up until 15 yrs ago dental implants were available but not a routine treatment option. Over the recent years however they are becoming a more popular option for replacing missing teeth.

Last week I placed an immediate implant to replace an upper central incisor (Front tooth). The tooth needed extracting as a result of failing root canal treatment.
After careful planning our decision was to carefully extract the tooth and place the implant on the same day. By doing this we hope to maintain the gum levels as they are to provide us with a natural aesthetic final result.
Careful extraction of the tooth using an atraumatic technique allows for bone preservation, allowing an implant to be fixed directly into the extraction site. If we waited for bone healing (6-8 weeks) in this case, the risk would have been shrinkage of the gum resulting in a considerably longer implant tooth compared to the neighbouring natural tooth. By using this relatively new and advanced technique the gum shrinkage can be kept to a minimum.

Update from Akash Ghai

Wow today I had an unusual case where a chap had severe wear and tear on his teeth through years of grinding and acid erosion.

Liking a challenge I offered to build up the teeth using direct composite veneers to give him that new smile in a matter of hours rather than taking the traditional route of crowns.

As you know we have a series of open days, and if don’t already know our next event is on Cosmetic Dentistry and Facial rejuvenation, on the Thursday March the 11th and Saturday March 13th. So if you think that you may benefit from cosmetic treatment such as composite veneers come in and find out more…..It’s the ideal opportunity to chat to the team on an informal basis.

If you are interested in Botox or Derma fillers why not give Dawn a call at the practice she will be able to explain the process involved from a first hand experience

See you there!

Saturday January 23rd 2010 10am to 12pm

Pop in, meet the team and ask any questions you may have regarding Adult Orthodontics, Dental Implants, Cosmetic Dentistry, Botox, Podiatry and more…. you don’t need to be a patient at our practice.

Here at the Village Dental Practice we offer a range of treatments for Adult Orthodontics using Invisalign, 6 Month Smiles and Inman aligner.

Invisalign – Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and improve our smile without the need for fixed braces. The Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move your teeth over time and give you the smile you’ve always wanted.
